Winter Challenge

For most people, getting outdoors in the winter is the hardest time of year, that means after you complete this challenge you will have made it through the hardest parts!

If you missed January's challenge, no problem! You can still do it. Here is January's challenge! This email also includes the and "rules" of this challenge.

February's challenge is BIRDWATCHING!

In my opinion, winter is the best time to go bird watching because the birds are easy to spot. We always have a feeder up in our backyard, but in the winter, we make more of an effort to keep it fully stocked. I like that we can connect with nature without having to leave the house.

We watch for winter birds like cardinals, woodpeckers, and even bald eagles. You can keep a bird guide handy to identify species or use an app. We like to participate in the Global Bird Count as Citizen Scientists which is February 14-17, 2025. We log all the birds we see on specific days to help collect data for scientists to use.

If you want to see the birds up close, you can attach a feeder like this to your window. We bought this pole and bird feeders for our yard. I thought it felt flimsy when we first got it, but it has held up for 2 years and worked great.

Here is a tracker to record all your adventures for the year! Try to mark off all 16 activities and complete the challenge! Once you try birdwatching, you can mark off "activity" under the winter section.

February's Digital Badge

You can post this to social media (and tag me- I want to see what you do!) or just keep it for yourself.

  • Hot Cocoa Hike
  • Listening Hike

  • Have a Winter Picnic

I'm so excited to hear about what you do! Please email me or tag me so I can follow along!

Happy adventuring!

Thank you for supporting my dream... The other day I read something that said, "when you support a small business, you're supporting a dream." That really resonated with me as I thought about how so many dreams of mine have come true this last year because people like you believed in me. When I hear stories that I have encouraged someone to explore, have fun with their family, or found more love and appreciation for their home because of something I shared, it makes all of the work and heart...
